Prerequisites & Recommendations

Race: Mark of Healing Halfling (Eberron – Rising from the Last War)
Class: Level 4 Scout Rogue (Xanathar’s Guide to Everything)
Background:
Feat: Magic Initiate (Sorcerer)
Flavor:

A scholar, researcher, and keen archaeologist, The Antiquarian is not well suited for combat. She is, however, an expert in self-preservation – by making herself scarce in a fight, or demanding an ally protect her, she ensures her survival. If direct combat is unavoidable, The Antiquarian can use her fulminating censer to heal and invigorate allies…and to toxify attackers.

Combat Skills

The Antiquarian has 7 skills of which only 3 are actual ‘attacks’ (one of those three doesn’t even do damage), lets see how that would work in D&D.

NERVOUS STAB

Attack: Dagger (1d4 + Dexterity Piercing damage + 2d6 Sneak Attack Damage)
Feature: Sneak Attack (1st-level Rogue feature)
Flavor: This is one of your only 2 ways to actually deal damage, and even then it is called ‘nervous’ stab. You don’t want to harm others, but sometimes you just simply don’t have a choice.

FESTERING VAPOURS

Spell: Poison Spray (Cantrip from the Magic Initiate feat)
Flavor: You hold aloft the censer as it emits a poisonous gas into the face of your opponent.

GET DOWN!

Feature: Cunning Action (2nd-level Rogue feature)
Flavor:

FLASHPOWDER

Spell: Light (Cantrip from the Magic Initiate feat)
Flavor: You ignite some oil in your censer, driving back the darkness that surrounds you, revealing all sorts of hidden foes.

FORTIFYING VAPOURS

Spell: Cure Wounds (1st-level spell from the Mark of Healing Halfling spell list) or Lesser Restoration (2nd-level spell from the Mark of Healing Halfling spell list)
Flavor:

INVIGORATING VAPOURS

Spell: Fog Cloud (1st-level spell from the Magic Initiate feat)
Flavor:

PROTECT ME

Feature: Skirmisher (3rd-level Scout Rogue feature)
Flavor: D&D has no features with which you can force an ally to position themselves between you and your enemy. But the ability to position yourself behind your friends is kind of the same thing, something you now can do with the skirmisher feature.
